Palm Sunday

This weekend, we commemorate Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem and the beginning of the most Holy week of all. We celebrate with palm branches, symbolizing victory and peace, in remembrance of how the crowds welcomed Jesus as their Messiah. Palm Sunday serves as a reminder of Jesus' humility and the fulfillment of prophecy, setting the stage for the events leading up to His crucifixion and resurrection. It is a day of reflection on the themes of hope, redemption, and the anticipation of Easter.
We look to Palm Sunday as the spark which sets the rest of the week into motion; it marks Jesus' invitation to join him on his most significant mission. Jesus calls us to be with him more purposefully this week, offering us a chance — beginning with Palm Sunday — to revisit the scriptural accounts of his entry into Jerusalem, along with his Passion and death, and contemplate their significance, both personally and for humanity as a whole.
Churches of the Home are called to spend time with these scriptural passages, immersing ourselves in the scenes, delving deeper, and strengthening our connection with Jesus. This period should be spent introspectively, as we ponder the importance of the upcoming events and their necessity. What aspects of our world necessitated a Savior?

VIRTUALLY SUNDAY REFLECTION
Jesus's entry into Jerusalem was more than a celebration of triumph. Beneath the palms waving in the air, Palm Sunday was a counter-protest against oppression. Listen beyond the shouts of Hosanna for the call to a transformative understanding of Jesus as a liberator. As modern Christians, we must respond to the challenge to confront oppressive systems and speak truth to power. Join Bridget as she reflects on Palm Sunday.

What a field day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and they carrying signs
Mostly say, "Hooray for our side"
It's time we stop
Hey, what's that sound?
Everybody look, what's going down?
