First Communion Weekend
This weekend, Resurrection is excited to welcome our First Communion children to the Table of the Lord. We pray God continues to bless them as they celebrate the second Sacrament of Initiation, the reception of the Eucharist.
During this celebratory time in the faith journey of the youth of our parish family, we can also be reflective of the importance of the Eucharist in our lives.
The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. Jesus gives himself to us in the Eucharist as spiritual nourishment because he loves us. "Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him" (Jn 6:56).
Take time this weekend to reflect on the Eucharist and what it means to you and your Church of the Home.
What does receiving the Eucharist mean in your daily life?
The word eucharist means “thanksgiving.” For what do you give thanks?
Is receiving Communion a private moment? Is it a communal moment? Might it be both?
Do you remember your own First Communion? Share what you remember.
Join us for Mass this weekend in person at 4:00 PM on Saturday, 8:30 or 10:30 AM on Sunday, on www.gbres.org/live, our YouTube channel, and our Facebook page.
