Church of the Home for Saturday, September 28

Recognizing Award Winners

Awards play a crucial role in recognizing and honoring the dedication, skill, and accomplishments of both individuals and groups. They serve as powerful motivators, inspiring recipients to continue striving for excellence in their respective fields. By shining a spotlight on the diverse contributions people make towards making the world a better place, awards not only acknowledge past achievements but also encourage future good works. Furthermore, awards can serve as a testament to the values and beliefs individuals hold dear, showcasing how one's faith can be lived out in impactful and meaningful ways.

Within your Church of the Home, it is important to recognize and celebrate achievements while reinforcing faith and values. While it could be fun to have an award ceremony for all members of your Church of the Home, it's not necessary to highlight the good happening within your home. Ideas for recognition within your Church of the Home include:

  • Faithfulness: For consistent participation in family prayers or Mass.

  • Service: For helping others in the community or family.

  • Kindness: For acts of kindness and compassion.

  • Achievement: For excelling in school, work, and other places.

  • Perseverance: For overcoming challenges with faith and determination.

Resurrection is proud to recognize recent award winners connected to our parish family: Bill and Jenny Hawley, Tony Pichler and Deacon Steve Meyer, and Sr. Nancy Schreck of Okolona.

It recognizes those whose faith plays a significant role in shaping their business conduct and who actively express their faith through engagement with their parish or community.

VIRTUALLY SUNDAY REFLECTION

Does importance lie in what is said or how it is said? The Holy Spirit works through various people and situations so the message of Jesus Christ can be spread, regardless of who delivers it. The core message of God's love, forgiveness, and salvation remains constant and central, no matter the method or messenger. Join Fr. Tim as he reflects on this weekend's scripture readings.

Ruby and Res

Ruby might not be considered a youth anymore (at least in dog years) but that didn't stop her from hanging out with the middle and high schoolers at Wednesday's Youth Night - especially when there's back scratches included.
