COMMANDMENT TO LOVE
The Church of the Home
31ST SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Jesus instructs His followers that the two greatest commandments are to love God and to love our neighbor. He commands us to love God first and foremost
because this is the exact purpose for which God created us - to share in a relationship of love with Him forever. God loves everyone the same way He loves us. He created all of us in His image and likeness. Therefore, we should treat every member of the human family with respect and love.
Look for opportunities throughout the week to ponder with and communicate these truths with family or friends:
We were made for love.
God created us so that He could love us and so that we could love Him back. How can we show God that we love him?
What are some ways we receive God's love?
What are some ways we can love others?
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.
Do you think there are things people sometimes love even more than they love God? What are they?
What does it mean to love God with all your heart?
How do we love God with all our strength?
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Who do you think God has in mind when He tells us to love our neighbor? Who is our neighbor?
How do we show people that we love and respect them, even if we may not like them?

Ruby's Reflection
Hi Friends,
This weekend is Halloween, and you know how much I love to dress up.
This weekend we also have the Commandments of love. I didn't have to ask anyone how to do Love, I'm really good at it and wanted to share how you love God and Neighbors as yourself!
Every day, before your feet hit the floor, thank God for the breath in your lungs, the spring in your paws, and the dawn of the day!
Every person you meet, think of what you would want to see, hear or feel, and share that! I want everyone who meets me to be as excited as I am to see them! If they aren't, I want to love them until they feel better!
All through the day, take in what God created! I smell the flowers, plants, and trees! I greet everyone!
Before you close your eyes at night, thank God for the day, the sun, rain, snow. Thank God for the blessings and challenges. Know that He knows what is in your heart!
I hope you find my list a good way to live out these commandments!
Love,
Ruby
